The sabre is very well made, just like the scabbard. Good quality ornament on the blade. Suited to long, dynamic and very powerful swings as well as thrusts; one can imagine it would do well from horseback and in loosely spaced, heavy infantry formations. The tūnkǒu just above the guard allows for two-handed wielding and keeps the sabre firmly in the scabbard.
It is an accurate reproduction of a type represented by at least two preserved examples of Seljuk sabres from the 11th-12th centuries, measuring approximately 95cm from the tip to the end of the handgrip.
Overall, a truly a unique piece of craftsmanship, and it’s made in the country where the Seljuks ruled! Highly recommended.
