The shamshir I got from Hamit is slightly longer than the standard version. He made the grip perfectly fitting my hand. The shamshir comes with a beautifully made wooden scabbard wrapped in brown leather with a touch of red. The scabbard is slender, which nicely fits the blade’s shape. It has a deep cut for smooth drawing and sheathing. When sheathed, the sword sits tight in its scabbard.
Measured from the tip to the end of the hilt in a straight line the sword I got is 89 cm long. The part of the hilt that can be gripped is 8.5 cm long and with its 2.5 cm thickness very slender. Only weighing 618 grams without the scabbard (which weighs another 198 grams) it is relatively light for this type of sword. The point of balance is 15 cm from the guard. The blade has an excellent distal taper. Close to the hilt it is 5 mm thick, half down the length of the blade it is 4 mm thick, and towards close to the tip it further narrows down to 1.7 mm. These features make it fantastic to wield, very nimble, very quick and agile. Since I am living in a country where sharp swords are not allowed, mine is dull and also the tip is a bit rounded, so alas I cannot comment on cutting performance.
I very much like its simplistic and functional look. It dispenses with unnecessary embellishments and the likes, which has a beauty in itself. I also really like the matte finish of the blade and how it reflects the light in warmish colors. I can warmheartedly recommend this sword and Hamit’s excellent work in general.

I've had the sword about a year now. It is excellent! The weight and balance is superb! The scabbard is perfect! The best by far. Light, slim fits the blade perfectly. I did order a slightly straighter blade, like the Ottoman-karabela. Flexes nicely and returs true.
I cut with it. Very fun. Came pretty sharp. I've since honed it a few times between cutting sessions. Sliced tatami, bottles and pumpkin nicely.
I've a number of swords, antique and reproduction. This is easily one of my favorites. I keep it by me often. It's definitely a go-to for me...
The sword took about 6 months to produce and ship. I did work on the hilt somewhat, I polished and refined the wood to a fine gun stock finish.
Super solid nice ring to blade. No rattle, even after lots of cutting use. I'd trust this in a tight spot.
I've put in a second order with Peserey. A hidden jem in the sword community. I think more people should be made aware of his work.
The balance! The weight! I think the reproduction market has nothing that compairs...
